We recently formed a new department, Quality Audit Training (QAT), which I manage. I am in the process of developing formats, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and checklists, but I don’t know where to find any resources to help me formulate and design such documents. I am particularly seeking help on audit reports pertaining to housekeeping.

Here are some of the resources I would use to assist in the creation of different procedural documents as they specifically relate to housekeeping:
The Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association (www.issa.com): Articles, standards and checklists are available from the site after the user registers.
Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA): This association’s bookstore has some maintenance related publications regarding commercial cleaning. For more information, visit this link: http://shop.boma.org/showItem.aspx?product=SEJANRFQ&session=59218EA327F2409586F161101379C3F5.
The U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also has some useful information on cleaning procedures. Check out this link: www.osha.gov/SLTC/etools/hospital/engineering/engineering.html.
Thanks for your question
