As people around the world remember the horror and sadness of last year’s transit bombings in London, and other infrastructure disruption story is unfolding.

Details are still a bit sketchy, but current reports from various sources state that the FBI has revealed plans by an al Qaeda-linked organization to bomb the Holland Tunnel–an important thoroughfare that connects New Jersey to lower Manhattan. The alleged goal of the plot was to flood the Wall Street financial district and disrupt the flow of traffic, however, “some experts did not consider the plan feasible because the tunnel was protected by concrete and cast-iron steel and even if the tunnel cracked, the Wall Street district would not flood because it was above the level of the river.” (Reuters)
