Product and Service Advancements For 2011
In addition to tried and true strategies, new products and services that improve operations are a boon to the facility management professional. TFM's December 2010 issue featured a number of product and service solutions being introduced in 2011 by industry suppliers, and we spoke with some of these vendors about how their offerings are designed to help facility managers further their goals in 2011.
 AERCO International, Inc. (HVAC Equipment)
Vincent D’Amore, aftermarket business segment manager, describes how the company’s HydroSkrub liquid descaler dissolves water scale, lime, mud, rust, and other water formed deposits from water operated equipment and systems. The descaler is nontoxic, noninjurious, nonflammable, nonhazardous, noncorrosive, and biodegradable.

 Charlotte Pipe And Foundry Company (Plumbing/Faucets/Fixtures)
Greg Nahrgang, new products manager, describes the company’s ChemDrain pipe and fittings system, a CPVC (thermoplastic) chemical waste drainage system for acids, bases, salts, and a range of organic media in labs. Components are joined with a solvent that creates a molecular bond between pipe and fittings to form a seal impervious to leaks.

John E. Deal, national sales manager, discusses the company’s custom fabricated single-ply, energy efficient roofing systems, each designed to fit building specifications exactly and manufactured under controlled factory conditions.
 Firestone Building Products Company, LLC (Roofing: Materials)
John Geary, vice president of marketing, describes SkyScape, a vegetative roofing system featuring a patented, double interlocking tray design. SkyScape provides an insulating layer that contributes to facility heating and cooling efficiency, protects roofs from UV and heat stress degradation, and extends the service life of the underlying roof.

Dave Higginson, director of business development, explains the advantages of the company’s new Push/Pull trim mounts on the ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 8200 mortise lock or HP bored lock. ADA-compliant, the trim mounts offer multiple mounting options and easy operation.

CEO Bill Bundy outlines how the company’s Intrinsic Freestanding line addresses the needs of facility managers with versatility, quality, and aesthetics at an affordable price. Intrinsic includes an Executive line, and new for 2011 is a Contemporary line.

Marc Petock, vice president of global marketing & communication, discusses Tridium’s latest release of its NiagaraAX Framework, Release 3.6. There are several new features that expand the functions and scalability of this building automation and integration software.

David French, marketing manager, discusses the company’s single-ply EPDM, TPO, and PVC roofing and its roofing services and maintenance portfolio, which includes a new rooftop recycling program.
