The 2012 FEC Award winners completed a variety of electronics stewardship activities in fiscal year 2011, including purchasing more than 105,000 green electronics registered with EPEAT; enabling power saving sleep features on more than 97% of their computers and monitors; and recycling more than 361,000 pounds of electronics.
The project is part of a plan established in 2010 to restore and improve the federal park with sustainability as one focus.
The bill directs the GSA to identify core competencies, professional certifications, a recommended curriculum, and continuing education courses to ensure that federal buildings are operated in accordance with industry best practices and standards.
These contractors will perform utility monitoring and control systems work in federal facilities throughout the continental U.S. and overseas.
